Location: Belgium, Limburg
Employment type: Full-time
Mission: Breaking the fossil status quo with a new generation of biomaterials
The Challenge: Demolishing the myth of fossil immobility
The fossil materials market is “business as usual”, even though there are plenty of signs pointing to “business as unusual”. New times require new biomaterial products. That is what we create at B4Plastics. Given the high urgency that often clashes with a lot of resistance, our mission drives us into absolute hunting mode. We are not looking for a traditional salesperson who merely maintains relationships the old way. We are looking for a semi-activist Business Developer who shakes up the market with the latest generation of biomaterials: a campaign of conquest like in the best movies. Biomaterials that bring a radically new balance: an appropriate function, superior ecology, and a solid business case. “Incontournable” as we say in Belgium.
Your Mission
Your playing field is the decision-making apparatus of established companies. You enter with a disruptive story and an ironclad product portfolio that is steadily gaining a proven track record. You compel procurement managers and decision makers to look over the wall to where true sustainability and change is happening. Their greatest risk is no longer change: it is sitting captured in the old fossil world.
Therefore your days are filled with:
- Proving the new balance: You show that our new biomaterials demand no compromises. You convince engineers of the functionality, sustainability managers of the ecology, and procurement managers of the affordability.
- Putting the economic truth on the table: You dissect the arguments of the fossil skeptics. You prove that a modest upfront investment now is the only way to counter massive future damage, CO₂ taxes, and supply chain risks.
- Building resilience: You sell geopolitical and economic independence. By transitioning companies to renewable, local raw materials, we save jobs in European industry and make Belgium and its trading partners invulnerable to the whims of the fossil world market.
Who you are
- A born hunter with substance: You get energy from the hunt and cold calling, but you win the substantive debate at the razor’s edge.
- Intelligent activist: You are intrinsically motivated to break through the fossil chain, but you speak the language of the business case. You flawlessly translate ecological urgency into Return On Investment.
- Material- and market-oriented: You understand the technical requirements of high-performance materials and can strategically position the unique balance of functionality, ecology, and affordability in the market.
- Experience: You have a proven track record in high-level B2B business development (preferably in materials, chemistry, packaging, or the manufacturing industry) and are not afraid of complex, transformative sales processes.
What we offer
- A frontline position in the biomaterials revolution: You are not selling a ‘green veneer’, but rather the industrial standard of tomorrow.
- A competitive salary package with a motivating bonus structure that grows along with your hunting success.
- A team of top scientists and engineers pushing the boundaries of biomaterials to back your story in the market, built on nearly a decade of pioneering research by B4Plastics and its more than 100 partners.
- The chance to help build the strategic autonomy and employment of Belgium and Europe, and to breathe new life into local factories.
Are you ready to strip the fossil industry of its final excuses?
