Unstoppable Autumn Transition!

As we transition into the vibrant autumn season here in Belgium,
we are excited to share the latest B4Plastics News and Highlights
of the last quarter with you.

K-Show 2025 Recap – Düsseldorf

Our participation at the K-Show in Düsseldorf was a great success. We saw strong interest and growing demand for biomaterials, confirming that sustainability remains a top priority across the industry. The event offered valuable discussions and insights into what customers and partners are seeking in the coming years.

Now, it’s up to us to turn these insights into concrete actions—translating conversations and ideas into real solutions that drive innovation and growth.

Success Stories

High-Throughput Pre-Screening

🚀 B4Plastics is proud to share a first series of customer success stories powered by the
High-Throughput Pre-Screening platform of Normec OWS 🌱

Together, these cases show how the High-Throughput Pre-Screening platform empowers innovators to validate biodegradability at speed,

transforming sustainable ambitions into real-world impact!

Mycomaterials

We are proud to share that the MycoMaterials project, led by BioscienZ (NL) in close collaboration with B4Plastics and Millvision, has successfully reached its final stage of completion. This achievement has been made possible with the support of the Eurostars program*.

Over the past 36 months, this partnership has been dedicated to developing a revolutionary fermentation technology that transforms agrifood by-products into sustainable Myco-leather – a first-of-its-kind vegan alternative to traditional leather.

This breakthrough not only brings a new material to the market but also introduces a patented production technology that paves the way for scalable, circular solutions in the leather industry.

*This project has received funding from Eureka (Project No. 153) and Vlaio
(Grant agreement No. HBC. 2021.1011) under the Eurostars program.

Our Founder’s View

”How Europe’s Green Tech Leads the Way”

It’s inspiring to see so many green tech start-ups across Europe navigating today’s storm of “non-bio.” While the world seems distracted by other narratives, the real game will soon come back into focus: accelerating sustainable products and practices to protect our planet — and the wealth of life it holds. We must act now. Staying on the fossil path is simply not an option.

Many biomaterial solutions have already proven to be technically mature, and some are now entering the market — outperforming their fossil-based competitors. Even better, several are starting to utilize existing European manufacturing assets, dramatically lowering their environmental footprint. That’s real progress.

Being a pioneer means becoming an expert at navigating an uneven level playing field. That’s what defines a pioneer: mastering the unfairness of starting out as an underdog. True pioneers don’t wait for the system to change — they change it themselves.

So let’s encourage regulators to take inspiration from the breakthrough biomaterials emerging from European start-ups. There has never been a better moment to craft smart, forward-looking regulations that reward those leading the way.

To all the pioneers out there braving the storm of 2025 in green tech — I wish you steady winds and heroic navigation.

Keep going!
