The Colleague Chronicles with Maikel

March 27, 2024

Unveiling the hidden Quirks of Maikel Dreesen

Imagine a driven 24-year-old, a graduate in chemistry from UCLL, who possesses not only a keen intellect but also a passion for fitness, friends and the pursuit of scientific knowledge. 🧪🏋️‍♂️

Now, consider a typical day for Maikel.

With his background in chemistry, Maikel is immersed in the dynamic realm of scaling up experiments from laboratory-scale to industrial production. This entails transforming small-scale formulas into large-scale operations, a process with lots of challenges and complexities.

However, Maikel’s duties surpass simple mixing; he must proficiently maneuver through mechanical and electrical engineering domains to guarantee the reactors under his supervision operate smoothly.

Switching between these diverse tasks exemplifies the essence of multitasking when it comes to his position.

But why does Maikel gravitate towards production over the familiarity of the laboratory environment?

👀Maikel likes to look at the big picture, from small test tubes to huge reactors. He’s fascinated by how chemistry works on a large scale.

But there’s a challenge. What works in a lab might not work in a big reactor. It’s like trying to find your way through rough terrain when you can’t see well. Maikel has to trust his instincts and tools to guide him through.

Projects

💥One project really excites Maikel, which is our FERTILAN® from the TriggerPlastics Technology.
It goes from a small amount (gramscale) to a lot (tonschale) very quickly, showing amazing progress.

Watching it go from an idea to a big deal in the industry makes our colleague feel like he’s on a thrilling rollercoaster ride.

This is a typical day for Maikel, always exploring new things in chemistry.

Each experiment is like an adventure, and every reaction is full of surprises.
In a world where science is king, Maikel finds excitement in learning new things.
